Faithful Christians should follow what Jesus taught by word and deed rather than the practices of the Roman Empire that prosecuted and crucified him. Not honoring the Sabbath on Saturday is against the teachings of Christ and stems from Roman Paganism and anti-Semitism.

In this argument, I address a contradiction between the beliefs of contemporary Christians in contrast with what Jesus is reported to have communicated according to the New Testament of the Bible (KJV). Jesus debated with the Jewish leaders of his day over what he believed were hypocrisies, and here I am arguing with the Christians of my day over one of their hypocrisies. I am not making a case that the New Testament is an accurate historical record; rather, that if one confesses to follow Christ and the teachings of the New Testament as a whole, then my argument follows.

A Trump supporter finds the humility to admit he is powerless over tyrannical demagogues and adapts a 12 step program to assist himself and others with the healing process

Warning: The reader may be deeply saddened by the following, as the genuine regret that the Trump supporter shares in this article, stemming as it does from heartfelt grieving and soul searching over the harms of the past four years, is therefore fictional. Any resemblance to real persons is likely a symptom of our wishful thinking.

Dear America, I hope you can forgive me for the harm I caused you. I voted to elect Donald Trump as the 45th President of the United States. I am hereby acknowledging that I am powerless over tyrannical demagogues. I am currently following a…

Trump’s homicidal deceit regarding coronavirus pales next to the Republican Party’s refusal to act to curtail global warming.

Bob Woodward’s new tell-all book, Rage, revealed specific evidence that Trump knew about the severity of Covid-19 (C-19) before it ravaged our nation, so far killing over 250,000 and sinking our economy. Not only did Trump willfully withhold information that he knew would save lives, but he also actively lied about the virus, and even invited supporters to mass gatherings against all medical advice. By definition then, Trump could be guilty of mass homicide. The same is true of Trump and all Republican political leaders who are knowingly deceiving the public about global warming.

The tragic effects of global warming…

The leaders of Right Wing Militia groups pretend to be defending our Constitution against tyranny. Some even carry copies to their gun toting protests. It would serve them and the rest of us well if they would take the time to read the first paragraph of the document.

Earlier this year, thirteen members of right-wing militia groups were arrested by FBI agents for attempting to kidnap Michigan’s Governor Gretchen Whitmer. They appear to have attempted an armed coup against a democratically elected government, and possibly to assassinate Whitmer. During the first presidential debate, Trump stumbled over a simple request to…

With the 2020 Election behind us, but for the Georgia Senate run-off elections, it is a good time to argue over more enlightening things than our degraded political discourse, so let’s discuss music.

The 2020 Election is over but for the run-off for the two Senate races in Georgia, and I’ve already sent in my donations to assist the Democrats, Ossoff and Warnock. Best get yours in soon, yes?

That said, even if Democrats don’t take the Senate this year, all is not lost as they are likely to in the 2022 mid-term election as Republicans have nearly twice the…

Ethical arguments regarding driverless cars require us to confront the question over whether the computational theory of mind has any merit.

Photo by Michael Jin on Unsplash

As aspiring manufacturers work out the technical problems with driverless cars, many of us are questioning the ethical and legal problems. Many supporters of driverless cars falsely believe that the ethical and technical problems are one and the same, so that reducing glitches that would likely cause accidents is the only concern. They don’t consider an equally fundamental problem that confronts us when in the drivers’ seats of our cars we replace humans with computer technologies.

It should be…

The previous week at the Presidential debate, Trump stumbled over a simple request to denounce another right wing…

Statehood for Puerto Rico and Washington DC will not be enough; we need to move to Wyoming.

Photo by Girma Nigusse on Unsplash

One of the more profound civics lessons we all should have learned during Trump’s presidency is the importance of the US Senate. If Democrats had control of the Senate today, we would be able to fully appreciate RBG’s life and legacy rather than anxiously plotting strategies to block the GOP’s next power grab. Hell, if Democrats had control of the Senate, Trump would no longer be the president. They may even have had the time to investigate and impeach Pence. …

A brief primer to what Marxist theory is and is not: Part 1, what Marxist theory is not, or how Trump and his far-right instigators get it very wrong.

As he stumped for re-election on September 17, 2020 at the National Archives Museum, President Trump gave a speech for The White House Conference on American History. If you go online to find what else might have occurred at the conference, you won’t find anything because it isn’t a conference but a platform for presidential speeches. Trump’s topic regarded the lack of a properly patriotic American history education. There are many critics of the speech, as there should be, but I haven’t heard anyone mention the fact that Trump was successfully sued for operating a fraudulent for-profit university, which should…
